We’ll be at the Dryden Fall Festival until 6pm today and more are available in the Flower Stand on Saturdays from 10am-2pm.

This arrangement is one of two that I made recently for a memorial service. Though bittersweet at times, I love that I get the opportunity to arrange blooms for all types of occasions: celebrations of friendship, marriage, and loved ones who will be missed.

All of our arrangements are garden-style, regardless of the occasion. For this one, I chose to include a few stems of our darkest purple blooms because historically it was a color used to represent royalty and felt fitting for honoring the death of a loved one. The brighter flowers are a sweet nod to a full life worth remembering. Grief and joy go hand-in-hand throughout life and I sought to symbolize that through the intermingling of different blooms.

When I received a request for a last-minute bridal bouquet a week before the bride’s wedding, I was on Mackinac Island celebrating my own wedding anniversary. Cherishing my 30 years of marriage with my husband is one of the many reasons I love to do wedding flowers! It gives me the sweet opportunity to contribute to the beginning of another couple’s marriage. Last week, the bride walked down the aisle holding this bouquet. 🤍
